The cable car between Aosta and Pila will come into operation completely renovated. Its appealing, more attractive design promises also to be more convenient, faster and more comfortable. Along the 5.1 km stretch, it will have cabins for 8 people, moving at 6 metres per second, and carrying 2400 people per hour (400 more than before). From Aosta, Pila will be reachable in only 16 minutes!
The restyling for the Chamolé chair lift, as well as providing a re-modernised lower station, also includes a moving walkway for embarkation, in order to ease manoeuvres on the upward journey. With the new works, the hourly flow increases by 400 people per hour (from 2,000 to 2,400), while the overall figures for Pila rise from 18,900 to 19,700 people per hour.

Pila's winter season 08-09 promises many exciting new developments in technology and modernisation. Chamolé to 1,540 m. Technical and exciting, this innovation is combined with the alterations to the stretch linking the lane from post 2 of the Cableway to Leissé.
Finally, with the increase in programmed snowmaking equipment on Bellevue and Du Lac, the percentage of ski runs that can be covered with artificial snow increases to 50% of the resort, with 400 operational cannons.
Safety has always been one of the prime concerns of Pila and its cable car staff. In order to ensure even greater guarantees for skiers, type A protection nets have been positioned on the Nouva gare, Leissé and Chamolé runs.
The numerous innovations carried out over the last few years to the resort's skiable area has made it necessary to revise the Skirama, in which you can find some of the numbers changed here and there, with various slopes re-catalogued and re-classified. The changes have been necessary in order to make it easier to follow, but don't worry, at Pila the "numbers" can still be done only on skis or by snowboard!
